Often today, we see that there are thousands of people unhappy or unsatisfied with the line of work or profession that they are into. And there are others confused with which line of work to choose for themselves and make a career out of it.

The reason could be parental or peer pressure to take that particular job, or that the job does not allow them to be creative and it is not fun or rewarding enough, or you do not believe in the work that you do, and so on. It is essential that you choose a career that helps you grow, learn, and be creative as an individual while also having job satisfaction.

Business these days have finally caught up with the value of UX and the number of recruiters in the industry is skyrocketing.

Good User Experience is no longer considered a nice-to-have, it is absolutely critical, and businesses are more than ready to invest.

In this article, we will talk about some of Designerrs Lab’s major success stories who made a transition to successful UX Designers and how they will help you embolden and decide the next step of your career.

1. Jerin Dany (Fashion Design)

As a young boy, Jerin Dany (Former trainee) spent a lot of time watching cartoons and animated movies and that intrigued him to understand and know more about the different art styles, colors, and well-structured storylines which were all assembled together to create a masterpiece.

Jerin Dany

According to him, design impacts our world and it strives to make our lives better.

In his words, “UX Design means a lot to me as it is all about the ‘people’ you design for. It is about understanding and empathizing with them to derive the optimum solution to their problems.

As a person who loves and has a fascination towards learning more about people, I find UX Design to be the optimum career path for me”.

2. Aishwarya Singh (Communication Design)

Aishwarya Singh, who is now a Product Designer for Designerrs Lab, joined a design school to know more about film making and animation as she was eager to know more about animation and production.

Aishwarya Singh

She completed her design communication course and only later, she was able to figure out what she wanted to do.

In her words, “Comprehending my designs and trying to put my idea of working for society into things and other people. Coming into design was an act of instinct but choosing design is not just to fix things but to make it better for the people”.

The common goal of a UX Designer is to solve actual user problems and improve people’s lives by constructing and designing useful products, and serve as a bridge between business needs and user needs.

3. Pallavi (Developer)

Pallavi started her career as a Java/j2ee programmer 13 years back, then she became a Solution Designer after 10 years and she now works as a User Experience designer at Honeywell.

Pallavi

According to her, “Lately people/companies have realized the value of human-centered design because most companies/products fail when they are not able to solve the unmet needs of their customers.

I made a gradual shift from Technology to Design and thus, can very well relate to this.

The best part about being a designer is the ability to solve challenging problems with a creative bend of mind and having empathy for end-users. I suddenly feel like a magician with a wand!”

4. Chethan (Marketing)

Chethan Kumar is a Computer Science graduate who was always thrilled when people appreciated the apps and websites that he programmed.

Chethan

Being fascinated with visually appealing apps and websites that were also user friendly, he wanted to learn and create such UI (User Interface).

In his words, “The UX Design course shifted my thinking and I learned that solutions cannot only be engineered but also designed as well. And moreover, the latter offers more comprehensive and human-centric solutions”.

5. Mamtha (Business Management)

Mamtha Mansukh started off as a Fashion Designer student but ended up graduating in International Business because of parental pressure. Right after, she was offered to work for a big MNC however, she felt that the job did not give her the satisfaction or happiness she was looking for.

Mamtha

That realization brought her to Designerrs Lab where she was able to get a clear idea to learn a full-stack UX Course.

In her words, “For me, design is not all about how good it looks, instead of how effectively it makes a user’s life easy”.UX Design is a growing and popular career choice with high job satisfaction.

It has a lot to offer as far as career choices go- it merges a broad range of disciplines like psychology, art, design, and technology.

This is what makes it one of the most exciting to work in and also draws in career changers from a range of different backgrounds.

6. Rajat (Product Management)

Rajat Shukla’s interest and curiosity in Product Management led him to know more about UX in Information Technology.

Rajat

To him, UX plays a very important role in the journey of a business — it’s success and its failures. In his words, “Learning UX changed the perspective of how I was experiencing things. I started to notice why I liked some applications better than others. I started resonating with different user groups using the app and how a small update actually changes people’s lifestyle and decisions.

Design, as I understand now, is giving maximum value to a user who is giving his/her valuable time to the product”.

Every design decision has the power to shape real-world products and services. Designers can literally see the impact of their work in the world around them. Not only that, but the problem-solving nature of UX Design makes it an extremely satisfying pursuit.

Landing into the field of UX design has got to be the most euphoric feeling that anyone will ever experience in life. It takes immense courage and persistent hope to start something fresh or make a drastic change in your life or career, but we hope these stories will help inspire you to chase something that you’ve always wanted to do and also to take that leap of faith.
